Andrei Zimiles is a lifelong entrepreneur with a strong background in technology, design, healthcare, and building lean-growth companies. He began his career building websites for Fortune 500 companies and government agencies, eventually transitioning to focus full-time on startup opportunities.
In 2008, he partnered with World Media Group to launch Doctor.com as one of its first incubated companies. Doctor.com pioneered the strategy of pairing the innate search engine advantages of a premium domain brand with a “big data directory” model focused on a lucrative industry (healthcare). Since inception, Doctor.com has experienced strong organic growth, engaging millions of patients and thousands of healthcare providers without any direct investment in advertising. In 2012 Doctor.com was spun off and merged with PracticeBrain, another health-tech company founded by Andrei. The combined entity, Health Platforms, is focused on tackling today’s most significant healthcare challenges by redefining the way patients and healthcare providers connect and interact online.
As a mentor at World Accelerator, Andrei hopes to help the next generation of World Media partners achieve similar success, and looks forward to providing incubated companies with guidance in matters relating to product development, UI design, go-to-market strategy, and monetization.
